In a commanding season opener, the Denver Broncos toppled the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 49-27. The win not only sets the tone for the Broncos' 2026 campaign but also sends a message to the rest of the league that they are ready to contend. Bo Nix led the charge for Denver, throwing for an impressive 393 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to stretch the field. Jaylen Waddle emerged as his favorite target, racking up 172 receiving yards and consistently making big plays. Despite a quiet day on the ground, Jadarian Price added a modest 22 rushing yards, but the Broncos’ aerial assault was more than enough to secure the victory. Defensively, the Broncos made key plays that turned the tide of the game, highlighted by an interception from Ernest Jones IV. While Riley Moss contributed with three total tackles, it was the consistent pressure applied by Denver that stifled the Chiefs' offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the second quarter when an interception set up another quick score, allowing the Broncos to build an insurmountable lead heading into halftime.
