In a thrilling Week 1 matchup, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Green Bay Packers 28-17, kicking off the 2026 season with a strong statement. Both teams were eager to start their campaigns on a high note, but it was the Vikings who came out on top, showcasing their offensive prowess. Kyler Murray led the charge for Minnesota, throwing for an impressive 292 yards and four touchdowns, proving to be a dominant force in the pocket. His favorite target, Justin Jefferson, had a standout performance, racking up 146 receiving yards that kept the Packers' defense guessing all game long. Meanwhile, Josh Jacobs put in a valiant effort for Green Bay, leading his team in rushing with 45 yards but struggled to find the end zone. Defensively, the Packers had some bright spots with Javon Hargrave registering two sacks, but they were unable to contain the Vikings' high-powered offense. The game's turning point came in the third quarter when Minnesota scored back-to-back touchdowns, extending their lead to 21-10 and leaving the Packers scrambling to catch up. Ultimately, the Vikings' ability to capitalize on their offensive opportunities proved to be the difference in this season opener.
