The Green Bay Packers opened the 2026 season with a statement, rolling past the Minnesota Vikings 27-7 in Week 1 at Minneapolis. In a division rivalry that rarely offers this much breathing room, the Packers controlled the game from the ground up and never let the hosts settle in. Green Bay leaves the state with a road win and early command of the NFC North. Jordan Love was efficient and in rhythm, throwing for 245 yards and two touchdowns while keeping Minnesota's pass rush from dictating the afternoon. The real engine, though, was Josh Jacobs, who piled up 141 rushing yards and added a game-high 86 receiving yards as a matchup problem out of the backfield. That dual-threat production kept Green Bay ahead of the chains and let Love pick his spots. Minnesota's lone bright spot on the other side of the ball was Andrew Van Ginkel, who came away with 1.5 sacks. Defensively, Xavier McKinney was the difference, intercepting two passes and turning Minnesota's drives into empty possessions. Edgerrin Cooper led all tacklers with five stops, helping the Packers keep the Vikings out of the end zone until the game was already decided. The turning point came with McKinney's takeaways swinging field position and momentum, allowing Green Bay to lean on Jacobs and bleed the clock. Held to a single touchdown, Minnesota never found an answer.
