The Washington Commanders topped the Minnesota Vikings 31-17 in a crucial Week 16 matchup that solidified their playoff positioning. With both teams vying for a better seed, the Commanders showcased their offensive prowess, executing their game plan effectively throughout the contest. Jayden Daniels was the standout for Washington, throwing four touchdown passes to guide his team to victory. He connected consistently with his receivers, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt provided a strong ground game with 87 rushing yards, complementing the aerial attack. Minnesota's Kyler Murray did his best to keep pace with 228 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Commanders' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Vikings struggled to contain the Commanders, despite Dallas Turner’s impressive performance, which included six total tackles and two sacks. The turning point came in the second quarter when Daniels threw his third touchdown pass, giving Washington a lead they would not relinquish. Although Minnesota's Isaiah Rodgers Sr. snagged an interception, it couldn't spark the momentum needed to shift the game's trajectory.
