In a commanding performance, the Cincinnati Bengals topped the Washington Commanders 49-25 in Week 2 of the 2028 season. The Bengals showcased their offensive prowess and solidified their standing early in the season, putting the league on notice with this decisive victory. Quarterback Joe Burrow was the star of the show, throwing for 352 yards and five touchdowns, demonstrating his elite level of play. He connected frequently with standout receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who amassed 150 receiving yards, while Nate Frazier added a strong ground game with 86 rushing yards. This offensive barrage was too much for the Commanders to handle throughout the game. Cincinnati's defense also made its mark, highlighted by Tacario Davis's team-leading eight tackles and a critical interception from Jaylen Key. The Bengals' ability to force turnovers and pressure the Commanders' offense proved pivotal, particularly in the second half, where they pulled away decisively. Cashius Howell's sack further disrupted Washington's rhythm, allowing Cincinnati to maintain control and seal the victory.
