In a high-scoring affair, the Washington Commanders topped the New York Giants 55-32 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. Both teams were looking to establish momentum early, but it was Washington that seized control with an explosive offensive display. Jaxson Dart of the Giants had a standout performance, throwing for 394 yards and four touchdowns, yet it wasn't enough to overcome the onslaught from the Commanders. Reshard Nails dominated the ground game, racking up an impressive 239 rushing yards, while Malik Nabers led the receiving corps for New York with 159 yards. Defensively, the Commanders made crucial plays, highlighted by Riley Moss's two interceptions that turned the tide in Washington's favor. Although Brian Burns added pressure with a sack, it was the Commanders' ability to capitalize on turnovers that marked the game’s turning point. Ultimately, Washington's defense complemented their stellar offense, ensuring a decisive victory in front of their home crowd.
