In a high-scoring affair, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals 45-35 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the matchup looking to solidify their playoff aspirations, but it was the Lions who ultimately came out on top, showcasing their offensive firepower. Jahmyr Gibbs was the standout performer for Detroit, racking up an impressive 195 rushing yards and proving to be a constant threat on the ground. Quarterback Jared Goff also had a solid outing, throwing for two touchdowns, while the Cardinals’ Carson Beck led in passing yards with 202 but couldn’t keep pace with the Lions’ explosive offense. Trey McBride stood out for Arizona with 96 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to swing the game in their favor. Defensively, the Lions made crucial plays when it mattered most, with Derrick Moore leading the charge with 2.5 sacks that disrupted Arizona's rhythm. Jack Campbell contributed with three total tackles, helping to contain the Cardinals' offensive gains. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Lions' defense forced a turnover, allowing Detroit to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
