In a commanding performance, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the New England Patriots 44-20 in Week 3 of the 2027 season. With this victory, the Buccaneers improved their standing as they look to solidify their dominance in the league early this year. Ethan Patten was the star of the day for Tampa Bay, throwing for four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers effectively. Eric Sheppard added a powerful ground game, rushing for 114 yards, while the Patriots’ Drake Maye kept pace with an impressive 405 passing yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Buccaneers’ offensive firepower. Kyle Williams also shined for New England, racking up 165 receiving yards. Defensively, Tampa Bay's pressure proved crucial, with Yaya Diaby registering three sacks and Josiah Trotter intercepting two passes. The turning point came early in the second half when Trotter's second interception led to a quick touchdown, extending the Buccaneers' lead and putting the game out of reach for the Patriots. Keionte Scott's five tackles highlighted a solid overall defensive effort that stifled New England's comeback attempts.
