In a decisive opening week matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the Atlanta Falcons 24-0, showcasing their dominance as they kicked off the 2026 season. With both teams eager to establish early momentum, the Steelers proved they are a force to be reckoned with, leaving the Falcons searching for answers on both sides of the ball. Leading the charge for Pittsburgh was veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns, effectively controlling the game through the air. Roman Wilson emerged as his favorite target, racking up 54 receiving yards, while the Steelers' offense maintained consistent pressure on the Falcons' defense. Atlanta's Bijan Robinson managed just 29 rushing yards, struggling to find any rhythm against a staunch Pittsburgh defense. Defensively, the Steelers were relentless, with Nick Herbig recording two sacks and Jalen Ramsey contributing with two total tackles, fortifying their stronghold on the game. The turning point came early in the second half when Jamel Dean's interception thwarted any hopes of a Falcons comeback, setting the stage for Pittsburgh's continued offensive onslaught. With such a commanding performance, the Steelers have made a statement that they intend to be a serious contender this season.
