In a crucial Week 9 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 23-13, solidifying their position in the playoff race. Both teams came in needing a win to keep their postseason hopes alive, but it was the Lions who emerged victorious on their home turf. Brock Purdy led the way for the 49ers, throwing for 241 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to find the end zone under pressure. However, it was Isiah Pacheco who carried the Lions' ground game, racking up 89 rushing yards. Isaac TeSlaa was a standout in the receiving game, notching 103 yards, which helped keep the chains moving and the offense balanced. Defensively, the Lions made critical plays to stifle the 49ers' momentum. Darrell Baker Jr. recorded 1.5 sacks, applying consistent pressure on Purdy, while Kerby Joseph's interception proved to be a turning point, halting a 49ers drive and shifting momentum back to Detroit. The Lions' defense stepped up when it mattered most, ensuring that their team held off any comeback attempts by San Francisco.
