In a thrilling Week 4 matchup, the Oakland Thunderbirds topped the Kansas City Chiefs 28-17, securing a crucial victory in the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to build momentum, but the Thunderbirds emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess and tenacity on defense. Leading the charge for Oakland was quarterback Joe Milton, who threw for two touchdowns and made key plays throughout the game. Ashton Jeanty contributed significantly on the ground with 75 rushing yards, while Jeff Caldwell was a standout in the receiving corps, racking up 89 yards. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes kept the Chiefs competitive with 273 passing yards but ultimately fell short. Defensively, the Thunderbirds were propelled by Maxx Crosby, who recorded 1.5 sacks, applying pressure on Mahomes and disrupting the Chiefs' rhythm. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Oakland's defense forced a critical turnover, allowing them to extend their lead and maintain control of the game through the second half. Drue Tranquill led Kansas City's defense with 12 tackles, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Thunderbirds' balanced attack.
