In a tightly contested matchup, the New York Jets topped the Detroit Lions 30-23 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to solidify their early-season standings, but it was the Jets who managed to secure the victory in the final minutes. Desmond Ridder was the standout on offense for New York, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns, while Garrett Wilson shined in the receiving game with 105 yards. On the other side, Jahmyr Gibbs led the Lions on the ground with 95 rushing yards, providing a strong offensive presence but ultimately falling short. Defensively, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. of the Jets was a key contributor, racking up 9 total tackles. The game’s turning point came when the Jets' defense stifled a late Lions drive, forcing a critical turnover that allowed New York to maintain their lead and secure the win. Despite a pair of interceptions from Brian Branch, Detroit could not capitalize enough on their defensive plays to change the outcome.
