In a closely contested matchup, the Buffalo Bills narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions 26-23 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The win keeps the Bills on track early in the season, while the Lions will look to rebound after a hard-fought battle that showcased their offensive capabilities. Jared Goff led the Lions with an impressive 334 passing yards, displaying his ability to move the ball downfield. Amon-Ra St. Brown was a standout in the receiving game, racking up 181 yards, while Jahmyr Gibbs contributed significantly on the ground with 90 rushing yards. Despite the loss, Detroit's offense showed promise with their explosive plays. Defensively, Ed Oliver was a key player for the Bills, recording 1.5 sacks that disrupted Goff's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Bills' defense held strong, forcing the Lions to settle for a field goal instead of a game-winning touchdown. That decisive stand, combined with Buffalo's efficient offense, secured the victory for the home team.
