In a thrilling season opener, the Green Bay Packers narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings 28-25, setting the tone for a competitive 2026 campaign. Both teams showcased their offensive prowess, but it was the Packers who managed to hold off the Vikings in a tightly contested battle. Leading the charge for Green Bay was quarterback Jordan Love, who threw for an impressive 405 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to stretch the field. Christian Watson was his favorite target, racking up 204 receiving yards and proving to be a matchup nightmare for the Vikings' secondary. Meanwhile, Minnesota's Aaron Jones Sr. kept the ground game alive with 107 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Packers made crucial plays, highlighted by Micah Parsons' 1.5 sacks that disrupted Minnesota's rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Bobby Wagner intercepted a pass, giving the Vikings a chance to tie the game. However, the Packers' defense held strong in the final moments, sealing their victory and starting the season on a high note.
