In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Detroit Lions 31-14 in Week 3 of the 2027 season. With this victory, the Chiefs solidify their early lead in the conference standings, showcasing their offensive prowess against a struggling Lions team. Patrick Mahomes was the star of the night, throwing for 358 yards and two touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker added a strong ground game with 116 rushing yards. Xavier Worthy emerged as Mahomes’ go-to target, racking up an impressive 185 receiving yards, consistently stretching the field and making key plays throughout the game. Defensively, the Chiefs made their mark with R Mason Thomas leading the charge, recording 2.5 sacks that disrupted the Lions' rhythm and helped shift momentum. Although the Lions' Kerby Joseph tallied seven tackles, it was the Chiefs' ability to pressure the quarterback and force mistakes that proved crucial, particularly in the second half when they pulled away to secure the win.
