The Houston Texans topped the San Francisco 49ers with a decisive 23-7 victory in Week 3 of the 2029 season, improving their record as they aim for a playoff push. The 49ers struggled to find their rhythm, and this loss puts them at a critical juncture early in the season. Raleek Brown was the standout performer for the Texans, racking up 94 rushing yards that helped control the tempo of the game. San Francisco’s KaMario Taylor managed to throw for 174 yards, but it wasn’t enough to spark the offense. De'Zhaun Stribling led the receiving corps for the 49ers with 66 yards, but the team could not convert yardage into points effectively. Defensively, the Texans were relentless, with Kayden McDonald making a significant impact by recording three sacks, disrupting San Francisco’s passing game. Jalen Pitre's two interceptions proved pivotal, halting any momentum the 49ers tried to build. The turning point came in the second half when Pitre's second pick set up a crucial touchdown, allowing Houston to pull away and secure the win.
