In a thrilling Week 7 showdown, the Las Vegas Raiders outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 49-38, marking a significant victory in the 2028 season. The win keeps the Raiders firmly in the playoff picture while handing the Chiefs a tough loss as they fight for postseason positioning. Fernando Mendoza was the star of the night for Las Vegas, tossing a remarkable six touchdown passes and racking up 450 yards through the air. His connection with Dont'e Thornton Jr. was particularly potent, as Thornton exploded for 247 receiving yards, proving to be a nightmare for the Chiefs' secondary. Meanwhile, Kenneth Walker of the Chiefs showcased his skills on the ground, amassing an impressive 243 rushing yards, but it was not enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Raiders stepped up when it mattered most, with Javon Bullard leading the team with three total tackles. AJ Holmes contributed to the pressure, recording a sack, while Nakobe Dean's interception helped shift momentum at a critical point in the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Dean's pick set up a touchdown that extended the Raiders' lead, ultimately sealing the victory against their division rivals.
