In a strong start to the 2026 season, the Washington Commanders topped the Philadelphia Eagles 21-10, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball. This Week 1 matchup set the tone for the year, with the Commanders eager to make a statement against a division rival. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was the star of the show, throwing for 220 yards and two touchdowns, while leading his team effectively throughout the game. On the receiving end, Jacory Croskey-Merritt emerged as a key target, racking up 87 yards. The Eagles struggled to match that offensive output, with Saquon Barkley managing just 52 rushing yards. Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, highlighted by Daron Payne's two sacks and Mike Sainristil's two interceptions, which played a crucial role in limiting the Eagles' scoring opportunities. The turning point came when Sainristil's second interception thwarted a potential scoring drive, allowing Washington to maintain control and ultimately secure the victory.
