In a thrilling shootout, the Arizona Cardinals narrowly defeated the New Orleans Saints 52-45, sealing their playoff positioning as the regular season nears its conclusion. Both teams came into this high-stakes matchup looking to bolster their postseason aspirations, but it was the Cardinals who ultimately emerged victorious in this Week 16 clash. Offensively, the Saints saw a standout performance from Tyler Shough, who threw for 351 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense under pressure. Jordyn Tyson was a key target, racking up an impressive 197 receiving yards, while Travis Etienne Jr. contributed with 70 rushing yards, providing balance to the Saints’ attack. Despite these impressive individual efforts, it was not enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Cardinals were led by Mack Wilson Sr., who tallied eight total tackles, helping to stifle the Saints' momentum at crucial moments. Conversely, the Saints' defense showed promise with Bryan Bresee recording a sack and Kool-Aid McKinstry snagging an interception, but they ultimately struggled to contain the Cardinals' explosive offense. The game's turning point came in the final moments, when the Cardinals' defense made a critical stand, allowing just enough time for their offense to secure the victory.
