The Houston Texans topped the Carolina Panthers 24-9 in a decisive Week 8 showdown that solidified their playoff aspirations. The victory showcased Houston's offensive prowess as they improved their record, while the Panthers struggled to find their rhythm on both sides of the ball. C.J. Stroud was the standout performer for the Texans, throwing for 234 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating poise and precision throughout the game. Tank Dell was his primary target, racking up 111 receiving yards, while Kewan Lacy added a solid ground game with 57 rushing yards, keeping the Panthers' defense on their heels. Defensively, the Texans were effective in stifling Carolina's offense, highlighted by Kamari Lassiter's critical interception that shifted momentum in Houston's favor. Although Devin Lloyd led the Panthers with nine tackles, they failed to capitalize on their opportunities, allowing the Texans to control the tempo and secure the win. The turning point came in the second quarter when Stroud connected with Dell for a touchdown that extended Houston's lead, setting the tone for the rest of the contest.
