In a crucial Week 5 matchup, the Seattle Seahawks toppled the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 31-17, solidifying their position in the competitive NFC West. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Seahawks delivered a dominant performance that showcased their offensive prowess. Leading the charge for Seattle was quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns, orchestrating a potent aerial attack. Meanwhile, running back Zach Charbonnet contributed significantly on the ground with 77 rushing yards, and A.J. Barner emerged as a key target, racking up 80 receiving yards. The balanced offensive output proved too much for the 49ers to handle. Defensively, the Seahawks made their mark with a crucial sack from DeMarcus Lawrence, which disrupted the 49ers' rhythm at key moments. Ji'Ayir Brown of San Francisco stood out with eight total tackles, but the Seahawks' defense consistently pressured their opponents, forcing critical turnovers that shifted momentum. The turning point came when Seattle's defense stifled a late 49ers drive, allowing the Seahawks to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
