In a commanding performance, the Denver Broncos topped the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 45-14 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. The Broncos showcased their dominance right out of the gate, setting the tone for what could be a promising year ahead. Bo Nix was the star of the show for Denver, throwing for 390 yards and two touchdowns, effectively leading the offense. J.K. Dobbins added a strong ground game with 100 rushing yards, while Jaylen Waddle shined in the receiving corps, racking up 130 yards. This trio was instrumental in establishing a formidable offensive presence that the Chiefs struggled to contain. On the defensive side, Nik Bonitto made a significant impact with 2.5 sacks, consistently pressuring the Kansas City quarterback and disrupting their rhythm. This defensive intensity was pivotal in turning the game, particularly in the second quarter when the Broncos racked up three unanswered touchdowns, effectively sealing the victory. Despite Drue Tranquill's 13 tackles for the Chiefs, the defense could not overcome the relentless Broncos offense, leading to a decisive defeat.
