In a thrilling season opener, the New York Giants held off the Dallas Cowboys for a 27-20 victory at MetLife Stadium. Both teams were looking to set the tone for the new season, but it was the Giants who emerged triumphant in this tightly contested matchup. Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart led the charge through the air, throwing for 257 yards and showcasing his ability to command the offense. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott of the Cowboys kept his team in the game with two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Cam Skattebo contributed significantly on the ground with 61 rushing yards, while Jake Ferguson led Dallas in receiving with 80 yards. Defensively, the Giants made crucial plays to impact the game, highlighted by Micah McFadden's sack that disrupted Dallas's rhythm. Although Caleb Downs racked up five tackles for the Cowboys, it was DaRon Bland’s two interceptions that provided the Cowboys with critical turnovers. The turning point came when Bland's first interception halted a promising Dallas drive, allowing the Giants to maintain their lead and ultimately seal the victory.
