The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off the 2026 season with a thrilling 24-21 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams entered the game looking to set the tone for the season, but it was the Buccaneers who ultimately secured the win in a hard-fought battle. Leading the charge for Tampa Bay was Bucky Irving, who dazzled with a standout performance, racking up 114 rushing yards. On the other side, Joe Burrow kept the Bengals competitive, throwing for 245 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with receivers, including Ja'Marr Chase, who added 71 receiving yards to the mix. While both offenses shined, it was the Buccaneers' defense that made key plays at crucial moments. Although DJ Turner II led the Bengals with eight total tackles, the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Buccaneers' defense tightened, stifling Cincinnati's final drive and preserving the win. Tampa Bay can take pride in their ability to hold off a late-game surge, setting a promising tone for the weeks ahead.
