In a decisive Week 17 matchup, the Baton Rouge Flamingos topped the Tucson Scorpions with a final score of 41-18, securing their playoff positioning as the regular season winds down. The Flamingos showcased their dominance on both sides of the ball, leaving the Scorpions struggling to keep pace. Drake Maye led the offense for Baton Rouge with two touchdown passes, while Christian McCaffrey was the star of the ground game, racking up an impressive 233 rushing yards. Jalen Milroe of Tucson put up solid numbers with 221 passing yards and Jerry Jeudy emerged as a standout receiver, amassing 155 yards through the air, but it wasn't enough to close the gap. Defensively, the Flamingos were relentless, with Andrew Mukuba making a significant impact by tallying five total tackles and three sacks. Baton Rouge's defense turned the tide during the second quarter, forcing key turnovers and stifling Tucson's offensive drives, ultimately sealing the game with a critical interception by Tyler Nubin. This dominant performance positions the Flamingos well as they head into the postseason.
