The Canton Crusaders secured a decisive 31-13 victory over the New York Mafia in Week 17 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff positioning and showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball. With crucial stakes on the line, the Crusaders demonstrated their readiness for the postseason, outpacing their rivals throughout the matchup. Tyler Shough led the charge for Canton with a stellar performance, tossing two touchdown passes while keeping the offense efficient. Meanwhile, New York's Jordan Love put up impressive numbers, throwing for 244 yards and connecting with Curtis Samuel for a game-high 133 receiving yards, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Crusaders' scoring. Antonio Gibson added 55 rushing yards for the Mafia, yet they struggled to find the end zone consistently. Defensively, T.J. Watt was a standout for Canton, racking up four total tackles and three sacks, which played a pivotal role in disrupting the Mafia's offensive rhythm. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Watt's relentless pressure led to a crucial turnover, allowing the Crusaders to extend their lead and ultimately control the game. Despite a late interception by Nick Emmanwori for New York, the Crusaders' defense held firm, ensuring their victory.
