In an impressive season opener, the South Carolina Storm topped the Seattle Scouts 24-12, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2027 campaign. The Storm's victory not only showcases their offensive firepower but also puts them firmly in the early lead of the division. Taylen Green was the standout performer for South Carolina, throwing for 277 yards and demonstrating poise in the pocket. He was well-supported by Bhayshul Tuten, who added 73 rushing yards to keep the Seattle defense guessing. Zavion Thomas was a key target in the passing game, finishing with 91 receiving yards, helping to stretch the field and create opportunities. Defensively, the Storm managed to contain the Scouts' attack, which was highlighted by Devin Bush's 10 tackles. Though Jonathon Cooper made his mark with 1.5 sacks for Seattle, the Storm's defense held firm at critical moments, particularly in the second half. The turning point came when South Carolina intercepted a key pass, allowing them to maintain control and secure the win.
