In a decisive Week 2 matchup, the South Carolina Storm topped the Baton Rouge Flamingos with a commanding 35-7 victory. The win not only boosts the Storm's early season momentum but also sends a message to the league about their dominance on both sides of the ball. While the Flamingos struggled to find their offensive rhythm, quarterback Drake Maye stood out, accumulating 87 passing yards and leading the team with 83 rushing yards. However, it was Taylen Green of the Storm who shined brightly, throwing for two touchdowns and guiding his team effectively throughout the game. Christian Watson contributed with 34 receiving yards, but the Flamingos couldn't convert enough opportunities into points. Defensively, the Storm were relentless, with Chop Robinson recording two sacks and Sonny Styles making a game-changing impact with three interceptions. The turning point came in the second quarter when Styles picked off a pass, setting up a quick touchdown that shifted the momentum firmly in favor of the Storm. With a combination of defensive pressure and opportunistic plays, South Carolina secured a comfortable win that showcased their potential as a playoff contender.
