In a commanding performance, the Albuquerque Vultures topped the Blacksburg Vipers 31-17 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. This victory solidifies the Vultures' strong start as they aim for playoff contention early in the year. Jon Langford was the standout for Albuquerque, throwing for an impressive 340 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers. DK Metcalf was particularly explosive, racking up 173 receiving yards and adding to the Vultures' offensive firepower, while Juan Bradford contributed with a solid 50 rushing yards to keep the Vipers' defense on its toes. Defensively, Albuquerque's Kamari Ramsey led the charge with five total tackles, ensuring that the Vipers struggled to find rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Langford threw his third touchdown pass, creating a gap that the Vipers could not close. Despite some pressure from Bryan Thomson, who recorded a sack for Blacksburg, the Vultures' defense maintained control, ultimately sealing the win.
