In a tense defensive battle, the Harrisburg Willows narrowly defeated the South Carolina Storm with a final score of 9-3. This Week 3 matchup of the 2027 season showcased two teams vying for a crucial early-season win, but it was the Willows who ultimately emerged victorious in a game dominated by defensive prowess. Ashton Jeanty led the charge for the Willows, rushing for 80 yards and keeping the chains moving in a tough matchup. On the other side, Taylen Green of the Storm put up 181 passing yards, but struggled to find the end zone. Denzel Boston was the top receiver for South Carolina, tallying 49 yards, but ultimately, the Storm's offense fell short. Defensively, the Willows were relentless, with Nick Herbig recording an impressive three sacks, putting constant pressure on Green and disrupting the Storm's rhythm. Kobe King anchored the defense with four total tackles, helping to stifle any momentum South Carolina tried to build.
