In a commanding display of dominance, the Seattle Scouts defeated the Nashville Nightmares 38-0 in Week 5 of the 2027 season. This victory not only keeps the Scouts in the playoff conversation but also serves as a stark reminder of their offensive prowess and defensive strength. Lamar Jackson spearheaded the offensive onslaught, throwing for 226 yards and two touchdowns while also contributing to the ground game. Dwayne Hall added to the chaos with a robust 91 rushing yards, and Chris Godwin Jr. emerged as Jackson's favorite target, racking up 109 receiving yards. Together, they made it clear that the Scouts' offense is a force to be reckoned with. Defensively, the Scouts were relentless, limiting the Nightmares to zero points and forcing a pivotal turnover with an interception by Kevin Winston Jr. The defense's ability to stifle Nashville's attack played a crucial role in the outcome, with Byron Murphy II applying consistent pressure, even without recording a sack. The turning point came early when the Scouts' defense forced a three-and-out, allowing their offense to build an insurmountable lead that the Nightmares could never recover from.
