In a hard-fought battle in Week 5 of the 2027 season, the New York Mafia topped the Oklahoma City Hornets with a final score of 38-28, solidifying their place in the playoff race. This victory was crucial for the Mafia as they look to maintain momentum in a competitive conference. Patrick Mahomes put on a show for the Mafia, throwing for 296 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite playmaking ability. Germie Bernard was his favorite target, racking up 115 receiving yards and consistently moving the chains. Deon Valentine of the Hornets did his best to keep pace with an impressive 146 rushing yards, but it was the Mafia's explosive aerial attack that ultimately sealed the win. Defensively, the Mafia made key plays when it mattered most, including an interception by Cooper DeJean that shifted the momentum in their favor. Derrick Moore added pressure on the Hornets' offense with a pivotal sack, but it was the timely stops and turnovers that defined the game. The turning point came late in the third quarter when DeJean's interception halted a Hornets drive, allowing the Mafia to capitalize and extend their lead.
