In a decisive Week 8 matchup, the Canton Crusaders topped the Blacksburg Vipers 21-7, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams vying for critical momentum, the Crusaders showcased their dominance throughout the contest. Dak Prescott led the Vipers offensively with 203 passing yards and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Crusaders' balanced attack. Tyler Shough added 40 rushing yards for Canton, while Jeremiyah Love was the standout receiver for Blacksburg, racking up 63 yards. Canton's defense played a pivotal role in the victory, highlighted by Christian Gonzalez's six tackles and Ed Oliver's sack, which pressured Prescott throughout the game. A key moment came when Josh Metellus intercepted a pass, stifling a potential Vipers rally and allowing the Crusaders to maintain control.
