In a crucial Week 9 matchup, the Austin Gunslingers topped the Dallas Silverbacks with a final score of 26-16, solidifying their playoff aspirations. The victory showcased the Gunslingers’ ability to perform under pressure, as both teams sought to enhance their postseason positioning. Leading the charge for Austin was quarterback Phillip Graham, who threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the offense. Laviska Shenault Jr. emerged as his favorite target, racking up 163 receiving yards and proving to be a nightmare for the Silverbacks' secondary. Meanwhile, Evan Hebert of the Silverbacks put forth a commendable effort on the ground, accumulating 105 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. Defensively, the Gunslingers set the tone early, with Colton Hood accumulating seven total tackles and Drake Thomas adding a sack to disrupt the Silverbacks' rhythm. The turning point came late in the third quarter, when Randall Farrow intercepted a pass, halting a Dallas drive and allowing Austin to extend their lead. This defensive stand was pivotal in maintaining the momentum and ultimately sealing the victory for the Gunslingers.
