In the opening week of the 2026 season, the Seattle Scouts topped the Las Vegas Lotus 25-13, establishing an early foothold in the league. With both teams looking to make an impact, the Scouts showcased their strength on both sides of the ball, while the Lotus struggled to keep pace. Derrick Henry was the standout performer for Seattle, racking up an impressive 196 rushing yards, effectively controlling the tempo of the game. Lamar Jackson contributed with a solid passing game, throwing for 1 touchdown, while Malik Willis of the Lotus kept his team competitive through the air with 280 passing yards, highlighting his capability as a playmaker despite the loss. Cooper Kupp shined for Las Vegas with 135 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Seattle's offensive balance. Defensively, the Scouts made their mark with Denzel Ward’s two critical interceptions, turning the tide in Seattle's favor. The game turned late in the second quarter when Ward picked off a pass, setting up a scoring drive that extended their lead. While Micah Parsons tallied two sacks for the Lotus, it was the Scouts’ defensive plays that ultimately sealed the victory and highlighted their potential as a formidable team this season.
