In a thrilling Week 17 matchup, the Sacramento Banditz topped the Houston Comets 58-37, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season draws to a close. Both teams fought hard, but it was the Banditz who emerged victorious in this high-scoring affair. Justin Herbert showcased a sensational performance, throwing for an impressive 510 yards and connecting for seven touchdowns, leading the Banditz' offensive onslaught. Dont'e Thornton Jr. was a standout in the receiving game, racking up 206 yards and proving to be a constant threat downfield. Jaylen Wright also had a notable performance for Houston, rushing for 149 yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Sacramento’s explosive offense. Defensively, the Banditz made crucial plays at key moments, including a sack from Jailin Walker that disrupted Houston’s rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Herbert threw three consecutive touchdown passes, effectively putting the game out of reach. Houston's D.J. Reed tallied six tackles, but the defense struggled to contain Sacramento’s aerial assault, allowing the Banditz to pull away for the win.
