In a thrilling Wildcard Round showdown, the Reno Reapers narrowly defeated the Seattle Scouts with a final score of 38-31, advancing to the next stage of the playoffs. Both teams fought hard, but it was the Reapers who ultimately secured the victory and a chance to continue their postseason journey. Lamar Jackson was a standout for the Scouts, throwing for 258 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities. Meanwhile, Shonn Dilliard was a powerhouse on the ground for the Reapers, racking up an impressive 187 rushing yards that kept the Seattle defense on its heels. Elic Ayomanor also made a significant impact with 140 receiving yards for the Scouts, but it wasn't enough to clinch the win. Defensively, the Reapers' ability to pressure Jackson proved pivotal, with LT Overton recording 2.5 sacks to disrupt Seattle's passing game. The turning point came late in the game when the Reapers' defense tightened, preventing any further scoring from the Scouts and allowing them to hold off a late-game surge. Nick Cross led the Reapers with five total tackles, ensuring that the ground game remained under control and sealing the victory for Reno.
