In a decisive Week 2 clash of the 2026 season, the Dallas Cowboys secured a 15-0 victory over the Washington Commanders, showcasing their defensive prowess and improving their record early in the campaign. With both teams vying for an early edge in the standings, the Cowboys' strong performance solidifies their position as a contender in the division. On offense, Trey Benson led the way for Dallas with an impressive 94 rushing yards, effectively controlling the ground game and keeping the chains moving. Meanwhile, Washington's Jayden Daniels threw for 201 yards, but struggled to find the end zone, while Terry McLaurin made his presence felt with 94 receiving yards, yet it wasn't enough to spark a scoring drive. The game turned on the defensive side, where the Cowboys' Joey Porter Jr. intercepted two passes, stifling any momentum the Commanders hoped to build. Malachi Lawrence added a sack, further disrupting Daniels' rhythm and contributing to a commanding shutout. With the defense stepping up when it mattered most, the Cowboys demonstrated their ability to win games through a combination of offensive execution and defensive dominance.
