The Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured a decisive 29-7 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 of the 2027 season. This win marks a strong start for the Buccaneers, who are looking to establish dominance in their division early in the year. Baker Mayfield was the standout performer for Tampa Bay, throwing for 286 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Meanwhile, Bucky Irving contributed significantly on the ground with 79 rushing yards, providing balance to the Buccaneers' attack. Although Jordyn Tyson of the Saints managed to rack up 116 receiving yards, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide for New Orleans. Defensively, the Buccaneers were formidable, with Rueben Bain Jr. recording a key sack and Zyon McCollum making a pivotal interception that shifted momentum in Tampa Bay's favor. The game’s turning point came early in the second half when McCollum's interception halted a potential Saints scoring drive, allowing the Buccaneers to extend their lead and control the game from that moment on.
