In a commanding performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Green Bay Packers topped the Minnesota Vikings 28-14. The stakes were high as both teams aimed to establish early momentum in the competitive NFC North, but it was the Packers who emerged victorious on the road. Jordan Love led the Packers' offense with a standout performance, throwing for 206 yards and two touchdowns. His connection with receiver Matthew Golden, who racked up 87 receiving yards, proved critical in moving the chains and finding the end zone. Meanwhile, Josh Jacobs anchored the run game with 74 rushing yards, providing a balanced offensive attack that kept the Vikings' defense on their heels. On the defensive side, Zaire Franklin was a key player for Green Bay, notching five total tackles and helping to contain Minnesota's offensive efforts. The game's pivotal moment came in the second quarter when the Packers' defense stifled a potential scoring drive, allowing them to maintain a comfortable lead. Despite Dallas Turner's impressive three sacks for the Vikings, they couldn't overcome the Packers' tenacious play on both sides of the ball.
