In a decisive season opener, the Chicago Bears topped the Carolina Panthers 26-7, setting the tone for their 2026 campaign. Chicago's balanced offensive attack and solid defensive performance proved too much for Carolina, as the Bears looked to make an early statement in the league. Caleb Williams led the Bears' offense with a steady performance, throwing for a touchdown while managing to keep the chains moving. On the ground, Chicago's rushing game complemented Williams, though it was the Panthers' Chuba Hubbard who stood out with 70 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Bryce Young of the Panthers threw for 201 yards but struggled to find the end zone, limited by the Bears' defensive pressure. Defensively, the Bears were relentless, with Kyler Gordon leading the charge with four total tackles. Gervon Dexter Sr. made his presence felt with a key sack, while Tyrique Stevenson secured the victory with an interception, halting any potential Carolina comeback. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Bears' defense forced a turnover, allowing Chicago to extend their lead and control the game from there.
