In a decisive Week 16 matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 25-13, solidifying their playoff position as the regular season winds down. The Steelers displayed grit and determination, knowing that every victory counts as they aim for postseason glory. Pittsburgh's offense was led by quarterback Drew Allar, who threw for 224 yards, while Jaylen Warren made a significant impact on the ground with 87 rushing yards. Wide receiver DK Metcalf was the standout in the passing game, racking up 108 receiving yards and keeping the 49ers' defense on their heels throughout the contest. Meanwhile, Brock Purdy managed only one touchdown pass for San Francisco, struggling to find a rhythm against a relentless Steelers defense. Defensively, the Steelers were formidable, with Patrick Queen leading the team with nine total tackles, contributing to a strong effort that stymied the 49ers' offensive plans. The turning point of the game came when Pittsburgh's defense forced a critical turnover in the second half, allowing the Steelers to capitalize and extend their lead. Despite Nick Bosa's impressive 2.5 sacks for San Francisco, the Steelers' overall defensive performance proved to be the difference in this crucial victory.
