In a dominating performance to kick off the 2027 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-3. With the stakes high for both teams in this opening matchup, Jacksonville showcased their prowess, establishing an early lead that they never relinquished. Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars' offensive onslaught, throwing for 147 yards and a touchdown while also contributing to the ground game. Bhayshul Tuten was a standout on the ground, racking up 81 rushing yards, effectively supporting the Jaguars' balanced attack. Meanwhile, Drake London was the lone bright spot for Atlanta, finishing with 74 receiving yards but unable to convert that into points. The Jaguars' defense was relentless, with Josh Hines-Allen dominating the pass rush with 2.5 sacks and Travis Hunter making a significant impact with two interceptions. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Hunter's second pick set up a quick touchdown drive, pushing the score to 21-3 and putting the game firmly out of reach for the Falcons. Divine Deablo led Atlanta with 10 tackles, but it was clear that the Jaguars' defensive pressure was a key factor in their emphatic victory.
