In a thrilling Week 16 matchup, the Houston Texans held off the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 31-27, keeping their playoff hopes alive. The stakes were high, as both teams fought for positioning in a tightly contested division, making this victory crucial for Houston. Jalen Milroe was the standout performer for the Texans, throwing for 306 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense down the field effectively. His connection with his receivers was instrumental in keeping drives alive, and he consistently found ways to exploit the Jaguars' secondary. On the other side, Brian Thomas Jr. shined for Jacksonville, racking up 126 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Texans made key plays that turned the tide of the game, highlighted by Kamari Lassiter's interception that halted a promising Jaguars drive. Although the Jaguars' defense, led by Jarrian Jones with nine total tackles and Josh Hines-Allen's 1.5 sacks, put up a fight, it was Houston's ability to capitalize on turnovers and make crucial stops that ultimately secured their victory. The game shifted dramatically in the fourth quarter, where Houston's defense tightened, allowing them to outlast a late surge from Jacksonville.
