In a decisive Week 17 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals with a commanding 48-17 victory, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season nears its conclusion. With this win, the Lions demonstrated their offensive prowess and sent a clear message to the rest of the league about their intentions heading into the postseason. Leading the charge for Detroit was quarterback Jared Goff, who threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers effectively. Isaac TeSlaa was a standout target, racking up 113 receiving yards, while Isiah Pacheco added a solid ground game with 87 rushing yards. Together, they propelled the Lions to an explosive offensive performance that overwhelmed the Cardinals' defense. On the defensive side, the Lions also made their mark, with C.J. Gardner-Johnson securing an interception that shifted the momentum of the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Gardner-Johnson's pick set up another scoring drive for Detroit, further extending their lead and leaving Arizona struggling to recover. Despite Mack Wilson Sr's impressive 10 tackles for the Cardinals, it was clear that Detroit's balanced attack and timely defensive plays were too much for Arizona to handle.
