In a decisive Week 17 matchup, the Washington Commanders defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-7, solidifying their playoff positioning. With only one week left in the regular season, this victory was critical for the Commanders as they look to make a strong postseason run. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was instrumental in the win, throwing for 165 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his efficiency under pressure. Jaylin Lane also stood out as a reliable target, racking up 86 receiving yards, while Bhayshul Tuten led the Jaguars on the ground with 79 rushing yards, but Jacksonville struggled to find the end zone. Defensively, the Commanders made their presence felt, with Harrison Smith leading the team in tackles and Shemar Stewart contributing a sack. Sonny Styles added a key interception, helping to stifle any momentum the Jaguars attempted to build. The turning point came in the second quarter when Daniels connected for two quick touchdowns, putting the Commanders firmly in control and leaving Jacksonville unable to respond effectively.
