In a commanding season opener, the Los Angeles Chargers topped the Denver Broncos 33-14, setting a strong tone for their 2027 campaign. Justin Herbert led the charge for Los Angeles, throwing for 210 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his precision and decision-making. Tadion Lott was a dual threat, racking up 89 rushing yards while also shining in the passing game with 108 receiving yards, making him a key playmaker throughout the contest. The Chargers' defense played a critical role, with Genesis Smith snagging two interceptions that shifted momentum at pivotal moments. Despite Jonathon Cooper's impressive 2.5 sacks for the Broncos, the Chargers' defensive unit held firm, ensuring that Denver could never fully mount a comeback.
