In a high-scoring affair, the Detroit Lions topped the Las Vegas Raiders 55-37 in Week 4 of the 2027 season, solidifying their position as a formidable contender. The victory not only boosts the Lions' confidence but also sets the tone for the rest of the season as they aim for the playoffs. Offensively, Aaron Rodgers led the charge for the Lions, throwing for four touchdowns and demonstrating why he remains a top-tier quarterback. Jahmyr Gibbs was a force on the ground, racking up 139 rushing yards, while Brock Bowers kept the Raiders' defense busy with a staggering 165 receiving yards. Fernando Mendoza showcased his skills for Las Vegas with an impressive 501 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome Detroit's explosive offense. Defensively, the Lions made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Christian Izien led the team with seven total tackles, while Aidan Hutchinson added a sack to his tally. The game’s turning point came when Kerby Joseph intercepted two passes, both of which halted Raiders’ drives and shifted the momentum decisively towards Detroit, allowing them to pull away in the second half.
