In a thrilling Week 7 showdown, the New Orleans Saints held off the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 42-38, maintaining their momentum in the 2026 season. Both teams came into the game looking to solidify their playoff positioning, but it was the Saints who ultimately secured the victory in a high-scoring affair. Drew Allar was the standout for the Steelers, throwing for an impressive 384 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Rico Dowdle contributed significantly on the ground with 83 rushing yards, while Darnell Washington emerged as a key target, racking up 182 receiving yards. Despite their efforts, the Steelers fell just short in the contest. Defensively, Jonas Sanker of the Saints played a pivotal role, recording four total tackles and snagging an interception that proved crucial in the game’s final moments. The turning point came when Sanker’s interception halted a potential game-tying drive from the Steelers, allowing the Saints to hold on for the win. T.J. Watt managed to apply pressure with a sack, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum in Pittsburgh's favor as the Saints celebrated a hard-fought victory at home.
