The Washington Commanders dominated the San Francisco 49ers with a convincing 49-24 victory in Week 6 of the 2026 season. This win not only boosts the Commanders' confidence but also solidifies their standing as a formidable contender in the league. With high stakes on the line, Washington showcased their offensive firepower, leaving the 49ers struggling to keep pace. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was the star of the night, throwing for four touchdowns and leading a relentless aerial assault. Brock Purdy of the 49ers had a respectable performance with 254 passing yards, but it was the combination of Daniels' precision and Kaytron Allen's 71 rushing yards that propelled Washington to a commanding lead. Receivers flourished as well, with multiple targets contributing to the scoring spree. Defensively, the 49ers struggled to contain the explosive Commanders' offense, despite standout performances from Fred Warner, who recorded two interceptions and five tackles. The game’s turning point came midway through the second quarter when Washington scored back-to-back touchdowns, effectively silencing the home crowd and putting them in control. While San Francisco’s defense managed a sack from Mykel Williams, it wasn't enough to halt the onslaught, leaving them to regroup as the season progresses.
